Frequently Asked Questions

Will applicants be screened for materials outside
the submitted application?

We will be evaluating applications solely based on the material submitted.

What content is banned?
We have a list of banned content on our Guidelines page.

What are the guidelines for relationships written?
Since this is a Sakusa zine, the applications are expected to have Kiyoomi as the main focus. Aside from that, the relationship isn't required to be romantic; as long as Kiyoomi is under the spotlight, we accept all sorts of relationships: romantic, platonic, polygamous/polyamorous or monogamous/monoamorous. Creators are free to couple up anyone, but still do mind the banned content list!

How will contributors be compensated?
While we would like to promise a free physical zine to all contributors, we cannot guarantee such. Zine profit is a constant variable, and we do not want to make any promises we cannot keep. We can guarantee for contributors: the digital zine PDFs, as well as the physical zine + merch priced at production cost. We can also promise that free physical zines, and bundles, for contributors will be the first thing that any profit will go towards, after covering production costs.

Where is the zine produced and where will it ship?
Our zine will be produced in the USA. We will ship it worldwide. Unfortunately, we cannot provide exact shipping costs right now since we do not know the exact weight of the package yet. We will update our carrd as soon as we obtain the information! Group Orders will also be welcomed. We will update you through Twitter when we update this section.

What are the zine specs?
Zine Size: B5
All zine pieces must be submitted in CYMK color format at 300 DPI.

Writing Specs: 1k to 2.5k words; Readable font; 12pt.

Is this project for profit or charity?
This is split for profit and for charity.

Are AU’s Allowed?
Any AU is allowed as long as it doesn't include any of the banned topics.
Can contributors apply for multiple roles?
Yes, all you need to do is submit an application for the roles you would like. But applicants will only be accepted for one role.

Can contributors collaborate with other contributors?
Yes, we can organize collaborations at the contributor's request.

Is traditional art allowed?
Yes, traditional art will be accepted. Please ensure that you can provide a clean scan with a minimum resolution of 300dpi for your final piece.

Can contributors use pre-existing work?
No, pre-existing work will not be allowed in this zine.

I want to add a piece to my application, how can I do so?
If you submitted a Google Drive folder, you may add/subtract to it UNTIL applications close.
